Sherman Dunn has a long history of helping its clients achieve their policy objectives through legislation. Beginning with founder Louis Sherman’s involvement in crafting the construction industry amendments to the National Labor Relations Act, and continuing through our present efforts to ensure prevailing wage protections on a wide range of federally assisted construction projects, Sherman Dunn drafts legislation and guides our clients through the process of seeing that language enacted into law. Sherman Dunn has helped draft scores of Davis-Bacon Related Acts in the U.S. Code, including those in the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and the CHIPS and Science Act. Most recently, our attorneys helped extend prevailing wage and apprenticeship utilization requirements to twelve tax programs under the Inflation Reduction Act.
Our clients are not only engaged in the legislative process, but also are active participants in the political arena. We counsel them on complying with the complex array of federal and state laws that govern campaign finance and elections, including compliance with PAC funding, spending and reporting obligations, as well as the rules and regulations concerning grassroots efforts to influence elections.
